Santa Ynez Valley Meals on Wheels: The Heart of Our Community

Santa Ynez Valley Community Outreach’s largest program, Meals on Wheels, is a proud member of the national Meals on Wheels America network. Every weekday, our dedicated staff and volunteers deliver more than 400 hot, nutritious meals to seniors—including many veterans—helping them maintain their independence and dignity at home for as long as possible.

For many of our recipients, Meals on Wheels is more than just a meal. It’s a lifeline. In a time when:

• Two out of three older adults with daily challenges receive little or no in-home care, and
• Half of seniors living alone struggle to afford basic necessities,

we step in—not just with food, but with connection, safety checks, and peace of mind.

Expanding Our Impact

We are committed to innovating and expanding to meet the growing needs of our community:

• In partnership with Ridley-Tree Cancer Center, we now provide specialized meals for individuals undergoing chemotherapy.
• We have been designated as one of only two USDA Veteran Food Distribution Service Centers in Santa Barbara County, ensuring that local veterans receive the nourishment and support they deserve.
